Google Android Power User Tips: How to Setup USB or Wifi Webcam with Android

Most of the people use webcam to make video calling. But, suppose if you do not have a webcam on your PC and the situation is like, you have to make an emergency video call then you got stuck. Android users are now free from these situations as they can use Android mobile camera as a webcam and can make video calls easily.

We are providing you the two methods to use your Android camera as webcam. First is using WIFI connectivity and followed by USB connectivity.

 Using WIFI:

• Make sure that both your mobile and PC is connected with internet. Now install IP webcam on your Android mobile. Once you open the IP webcam app you will be getting the below image.

• Just tap on ‘start server’ option and your camera will be activated automatically and you will be seeing ‘How do I connect’ option on the top of the screen.

• By tapping that option users are provided with an URL and this URL must be entered in the PC’s web browser. Now, your PC screen will be of various options and up on selecting any one, your Android mobile will turn into webcam and you can use it as your wish.

Using USB cable:

• Initially users have to install USB webcam on their Android mobiles along with desktop client. Now connect your mobile with PC using USB cable.

• Launch the USB Webcam desktop client and MS-DOS command prompt will be opened automatically, do not close this command prompt.

• Start USB webcam app from your phone and start using the phone cum webcam as your wish.
