Used iPhone 12 Mini, 128GB with 98% battery health sold last week to a returning client from Auckland CBD.

Brief review of the Apple iPhone 12 Mini:
Apple iPhone 12 Mini was officially released on October 13, 2020.
The phone is powered by the new Apple A14 Bionic processor and supports Next‑generation Neural Engine.
The smartphone comes with a 5.4 inches of Super Retina XDR OLED capacitive touchscreen, 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution.

Additionally, the screen of the device supports Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, 625 nits max brightness (typical); 1200 nits max brightness (HDR), 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio (typical), Haptic Touch, and display of multiple languages and characters simultaneously.

The smartphone is rated IP68 under IEC standard 60529 that provides a maximum depth of 6 meters up to 30 minutes.

Is the Apple iPhone 12 mini actually small?

The iPhone 12 Mini is actually small. With flat aluminum sides and a glossy glass back, the iPhone 12 Mini looks like a premium version of the iPhone 5, which is absolutely a good thing. In fact, it isn't much bigger than an iPhone 5 and it's smaller than the 2020 iPhone SE.

Which is better iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 mini?

The most noticeable difference between the ‌iPhone 12‌ and ‌iPhone 12 mini‌ is the display size. The ‌iPhone 12‌ has a size of 6.1 inches, and the 12 mini has a size of 5.4 inches.

Why is Apple discontinuing the iPhone 12 mini?
However, according to a note to investors from William Yang, a JP Morgan supply chain analyst, the iPhone 12 mini has seen extremely weak demand which may result in the brand discontinuing its production by the second quarter of 2021.
Is the iPhone Mini worth it?

It's the best small phone you can possibly buy, outpacing anything Android can offer. Fans of smaller handsets will love this phone, as it fits in many a pocket. I can think of a few people personally who would appreciate that. Even though the design hasn't changed much, the iPhone 13 mini is still a pretty device.

Apple Announces New Lockdown Mode on iOS 16 With 'Extreme' Level of Security

8th July, 2022:

Apple's new Lockdown mode on iOS 16 and macOS 13 Ventura will protect users against cyberattacks from private companies with state-sponsored spyware such as activists, government employees, and other organizations. The new Lockdown mode is enabled in iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS 13 Ventura beta 3.

Apple said it lockdown mode has been available since the arrival of the third beta versions of iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura released yesterday. The nifty security feature will then be available to everyone later this year (expected in September) when the company releases iOS 16 and other systems to the general public. And while the new feature is primarily intended for people who are the target of cyberattacks, Apple says it can be used by virtually anyone. So if you feel threatened, you can activate it as well.

Lockdown mode is off by default, of course, but if you want to turn it on, just go to the application Settings > Privacy & Security. It is important to add that activating this mode requires restarting the iPhone and entering the passcode from the device. You turn it off the same way you turned it on. However, a restart is necessary.

Apple wrote in an official statement that if the mode <Lockdown Mode> active, offers the user an “extreme” level of device security by severely restricting or disabling various functions of apps and websites.

At startup, lockdown mode includes the following protections:

Most attachment types except images are blocked in the Messages app, and some features like link previews are unavailable.

Incoming FaceTime calls from people you’ve never called will be blocked. Incoming invitations to other Apple services from people you haven’t previously invited will also be blocked.

Certain complex web technologies and browsing features, including just-in-time (JIT) compilation of JavaScript, are disabled unless the user excludes the trusted site from blocking mode. This protection applies to – Safari and all other web browsers using WebKit on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Shared albums are removed from the Photos app and invitations to new shared albums are blocked.

When a device is locked, cable connections to all other devices and accessories are blocked.

When lockdown mode is enabled, configuration profiles cannot be installed and the device cannot enroll in Mobile Device Management (MDM).

While there’s quite a bit of news in lockdown mode, that’s not all that we’ll see here over time. Apple has said it will gradually add new protections and security restrictions aimed at reducing the risk of politically or otherwise exposed individuals being hacked.

Additionally, the tech giant has added a new category to its Security Bounty program to reward researchers who find bugs and bugs in lockdown mode and help improve protection, capping bounty for qualifying finds in lockdown mode at a maximum of 2 double million dollars.
