A 64GB microSDXC card for your phone? Sure, Sandisk has one

Sandisk just announced the world's first 64GB microSDXC card, which is designed for use in smartphones. The manufacturer doubled the maximum extra storage that you can add to your smartphone or tablet.

If you were getting worryingly close to the storage limit of your smartphone or tablet, you may breathe a sigh of relief now. The newly announced card is the flagship of the new Mobile Ultra series in the Sandisk portfolio.

According to the manufacturer it should provide class 6 performance, which means a minimum write speed of 6MB/s in fragmented state. In best case scenarios, the card should be able to achieve the impressive 30MB/s (200x) transfers. Not that the current gen smart mobile devices can go that high, but seeing the development rate you might need such speeds soon enough.
