Motorola Droid X vs. Apple iPhone 4: Comparison
Motorola Droid X is the most highly rated Android devices in the market. When it comes to competition it certainly outshines HTC EVO 4G and Samsung Galaxy S and poses a strong threat to the powerful iPhone 4.
This article draws an analogy between Motorola Droid X and iPhone 4 to help you rationally decided which one to choose.
Design and Display
The design of both Droid X and iPhone 4 has an appeal of their own. Droid X has a trendy and decent appearance like most of the Motorola handsets. On the other hand, iPhone 4 has a unique Apple-esque design look and feel. Both handsets go hand in hand in terms of design.
However, in the case of display the situation is a little tricky. Droid X has a 4.3 inch display screen which is larger than that of iPhone 4 that is 3.5 inches but the latter hold superiority with respect to screen resolution. So, it’s a trade off the user makes either go for a larger screen of Droid X with a nice screen resolution or opt for iPhone 4 that may stand inferior in screen size but has a better resolution than Droid X.

Android 2.1 and iOS4 are strong functioning operating systems that support the Droid X and iPhone 4 respectively. The major difference which sets the two operating systems apart and gives a competitive edge to iPhone 4 is the range of applications offered. iOS4 hosts about 200,000 applications and in contrast the Android Market has swollen up to a total of 65,000 apps.
Multimedia
Both of these phones have impressive high quality cameras. Droid X comes with a 8MP, 3264 X 2448 pixel camera with an outclass dual LED flash where as iPhone 4 has a 5MP, 2592 X 1944 pixel camera that has a remarkable and better image sensor . The results of the later are a little superior than Droid X owing to its image sensor.
Even though the Droid X and iPhone have the identical video recording statistics of 72p at a frame rate of 30 FPS but iPhone 4 offers a front facing camera for video calls which Droid X does not offer.
Connectivity
both of these competing phones feature GPRS, EDGE, 3G HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS but the network provider of Droid i.e., Verizon is far much efficient and better than that of iPhone 4, AT&T.
Conclusion
As it is pretty evident from the above evaluation neither of the two competitors dominantly over shadow the other and even though they might seem relatively inferior or superior in certain aspects, in total both equally deserve to be stated as the best smartphones available till this date.
