13APR2020: Global #Coronavirus Update. #drmobileslimited, #phonerepair, #screenrepair, #laptoprepair, #iPhoneunlock

13th April, 2020:  Update of the global Coronavirus pandemic

The death rate in Italy and France - two of the countries worst-affected by the coronavirus - appears to be slowing, as the number of people confirmed to have the disease across the world rose beyond 1.8 million.

Italy's Civil Protection Agency reported the lowest number of coronavirus deaths since March 19, with 431 fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours, compared with 619 the previous day.

France reported 315 deaths in hospital over the last day, compared with 345 the day before. President Emmanuel Macron is due to address the nation for a third time later on Monday but is expected to stress the need for the lockdown to continue.

Globally, more than 114,000 people have died from the new coronavirus, while nearly 422,000 have recovered, according to the data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

Monday, April 13
06:40 GMT - S Korea to ship 600,000 testing kits to US: Reuters
South Korea plans to send 600,000 coronavirus testing kits to the United States on Tuesday in the first such shipment following a request from U.S. President Donald Trump, a Seoul official told Reuters news agency.
Trump made the request for testing kits in a telephone call on March 25 with President Moon Jae-in, as the United States was grappling with fast-growing outbreaks in many states.
A US Federal Emergency Management Agency cargo plane carrying the equipment is scheduled to leave at 10:30 pm (13:30 GMT) on Tuesday, the official said on condition of anonymity due to the diplomatic sensitivity of the issue.

06:30 GMT - Germany's cases rise by 2,537 with 126 new deaths
The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Germany has risen by 2,537 to 123,016, according to data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases.
That was lower than a 2,821 increase reported on Sunday, and marked the third decline after four days of increases.
The reported death toll has risen by 126 to 2,799.

05:15 GMT - Malaysia trade ministry website crashes as businesses apply to operate
The website of Malaysia's International Trade and Industry Ministry was inaccessible on Monday as businesses rushed to apply for permission to operate during the third phase of the country's lockdown.
Companies were told they had to apply online and that applications would be open from 9am (01:00 GMT).
Malaysia has said more industries can operate in the next two weeks of the shutdown providing they adhere to distancing and health control guidelines.

Google Earth is a virtual globe, map and geographical information program. It maps the Earth by the superimposition of images obtained from satellite imagery, aerial photography and geographic information system (GIS) 3D globe. Just like their data-rich Maps and Street View offerings, Google Earth is a treasure trove of oddities.

You’ve no doubt already come across some interesting finds on Google Earth. The post below attempts to compile the most fascinating sites other have stumbled upon browsing Google Earth. From natural formations to human structures, the world is a different place when viewed from above.

If you’re interested in seeing any of the places yourself, I’ve included the coordinates for every image shown below. Just copy and paste into Google Earth/Maps and explore for yourself!  Explore the rest of the list here.

Does Wearing a Mask Protect You from the Flu and Other Viruses? #nzlockdown, #drmobileslimited, #davidlimnz, #0800429429

Does Wearing a Mask Protect
You from the Flu and Other Viruses?

When the United States experienced an outbreak of the swine flu in 2009, everyone was talking about how to reduce the spread of the virus.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)Trusted Source, vaccine availability was limited that year because the virus wasn’t identified until manufacturers had already started producing the annual vaccine.

So, people started doing something most of us hadn’t really seen before to stop transmission: wearing surgical face masks.

But with the recent spread of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, people are again looking to surgical face masks as a way of protecting themselves and others from the virus, which causes the disease COVID-19.

But does wearing a face mask really prevent the spread of viruses, such as the flu or SARS-CoV-2?

We’ll look at recommendations from experts, unpack the research on which masks are most effective, and explain how to use masks properly.
