Sony Ericsson introduces Live with Walkman droid smartphone

It seems that Sony Ericsson is getting back to the Walkman brand (at one point they said they'll leave it behind). The latest model to sport the prestigious logo is the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman. It is quite similar to the new Xperia mini, but with a slightly bigger screen and a strong focus on music.

The Live with Walkman is a Gingerbread droid (customized with Sony Ericsson's four-corner UI), powered by a 1GHz processor. The screen is 3.2" TFT with HVGA resolution and scratch-resistant coating. The phone measures 56.5 x 106 x 14.2 mm and weighs 115g, making it slightly taller and heavier than the Xperia mini.

Anyway, the new music-loving Sony Ericsson has stereo speakers with xLOUD technology (which improves speaker performance) and the trademark Walkman music player. The 1200mAh battery is good for up to 17 hours and a half of music playback.

Other than that, the specs of the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman are pretty much like those of the Xperia mini - quad-band 2G, tri-band 3G (with HSPA), A-GPS, Wi-Fi with DLNA and hotspot, Bluetooth with A2DP, 5MP main camera with LED flash, 720p video recording and VGA secondary camera.

The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman will be out some time in the final quarter but there's no exact date or pricing info. All we know is that it will come with a 2GB microSD card and a stereo headset (though Sony Ericsson didn’t say anything more about it).

Apple iPhone Rumors: Will Apple Announce the iPhone 5 on September 7th?

Kodawarisan, a Japanese web site, is reporting that Apple's Fall Event, which previously focused on iPods but will likely include the iPhone 5 announcement this year, is scheduled for Wednesday Sepetember 7th, 2011. The rumored date jives well with previous years.

Apple has always targeted early September for their Fall Events. Last year, the Fall Event was held on September 1st. In 2009 and 2008, it was held on September 9th. So it does make sense from a historical perspective. This year is a little different though because it will be the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on September 11th; it seems unlikely, perhaps, that Apple would want to compete with such an emotional and all-encompassing event for the type of media attention their product launches usually command.

Either way, we'll likely find out when the real confirmed date of the iPhone 5 announcement soon.

The iPhone 5 Could Have the Same Battery Life As the iPhone 4?

MacRumors has been pointed to a slew of possible iPhone 5 components, including the battery inside the iPhone 5. According to them, the iPhone 5 battery is pretty much the same shape as the iPhone 4 and packs the same power.

Specifically, the purported iPhone 5 battery is 3.7v and 5.3Whr while the iPhone 4 battery is 3.7v and 5.25Whr. The iPhone 5 battery was spotted by MacRumors sporting the "DVT_B3" labeling which suggests it's a late prototype. Perhaps power management will be different in iOS 5 but it looks like the iPhone 5 will have a similar battery life to the iPhone 4.

Simply Amazing Logos with Hidden Symbolisms....

This is a great collection of smart logos with the hidden message.

Some, of course, are obvious, but some, to fully understand them, you need to the story or explanation, or even a little puzzle. For me, these are the best logos in terms of design.

Circus tent looks like a magazine.

Just looking at the logo makes you want to press "backspace" and correct the typo.

Notice that the word "bar" is darker.

The question mark is made of a belt.

Letter "B" is also a bird.

Coffee steam is made of mouse pointers.

The arrow from A to Z, symbolizes what Amazon is known for selling everything from "a to z" . It also serves as a smile, making the company feel friendly and approachable.

"Notice how the space around the plane forms the letters C and D." (Tobias)

There’s an elephant trunk inside the letter "e".

Empty space in the middle creates a number "1" for "Formula 1"

Those 3 letters in the middle 'i', 'l', and second ‘i’ represent a family

A bit provocative logo against nazism and racism.

If you look closer you’ll notice the right-pointing arrow in between the ‘E’ and the ‘x’, representing precision and speed at which FedEx works.

A hanger looks like a duck.
